What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal as a psychologist is to help individuals gain self-awareness and self-compassion, while empowering them to make the changes necessary to live a happy, successful, and meaningful life. I prioritize creating a safe-space, in which clients feel supported as we work collaboratively to understand how best to meet their emotional, professional, and relational needs. I help clients acknowledge their strengths so they can gain confidence in confronting their self-limiting beliefs and trying new and helpful ways of navigating the world.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Seeking assistance takes courage and strength. Therefore, I make sure to be empathic, warm, sensitive, authentic, and accepting. We will work collaboratively to identify treatment goals, explore barriers and self-limiting beliefs, and work towards change. My approach is client-centered, and eclectic: I tailor my interventions to each client, drawing on techniques from CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy, to help relieve distress and to make meaningful changes that can lead to more fulfilling lives.
