He put my mind at so much ease and I’m so glad I chose him. He came up with a solution quick! Wait time was a bit on the longer side but I can understand why, he takes his time to explain everything and thoroughly examine your eyes. I highly highly recommend him!”

“I think Dr Pollack is one of the most thorough drs I have experienced. And he saved my life when he diagnosed my blocked vision last year as a stroke and sent me to the ER immediately, where I had surgery for a blocked carotid artery. My follow-ups w/him have always been thorough too, even a year out. He has a droll sense of humor, which I appreciate, and his staff are warm, friendly and experienced, knowledgeable professionals. Space is clean, although a waiting rooms bit on small side. But appts can often take a few hrs due to all the testing involved. My experience has been that the wait is worth it. Highly recommended. ”

About Dr. Aryeh Pollack
Dr. Pollack treats all adult aspects of retinal diseases and surgery, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and macular surgery. He specializes in advanced surgical vitreoretinal techniques and treatments in his new ultra-modern, comfortable, spacious, patient-oriented office in midtown Manhattan. Dr. Pollack earned his Doctor of Medicine from Harvard University, completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Ophthalmology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and finished a fellowship in Retinal Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center. Horrible experience — I left mid-appointment after finding out that everyone in the waiting room had been waiting for the doctor for 3+ hours. They took me in, dilated my pupils and prepped me to see the doctor, and then asked me to go back to the waiting room. I mentioned how busy it was to the front desk person, and they said the wait time right now would be 3-4 hours total (which was never communicated beforehand, I budgeted an hour or so for this).
The experience was extremely unpleasant due to this lack of communication, but even if you did want to wait the 4 hours they requested, the waiting area is so small that some people weren’t even all able to get seats. The energy was bleak, frustrated, and an overall lack of care for the patients.
It’s awesome to run ads on zocdoc and have good reviews, but ultimately overbooking your office is going to lead to more frustrating experiences like this for patients

Dr. Pollack is efficient and professional — typical of any retail doctor. If you have an issue he reasonably deduces science can resolve, he’ll execute. Otherwise, expect more test$ and visit$.
The equipment and facilities are well-kept and clean. The practice itself is tiny, and the waiting room was overcrowded when I visited. Several people had to stand while waiting their turn for various prep procedures, such as eye dilation or injections. The one-and-a-half-room waiting area is about the size of an average Manhattan studio.
The location, aside from being relatively close to the 4/5/6/7 trains, is even closer to the East River Ferry stop at 34th Street. I spent a whopping four hours onsite just for testing and discussions — mostly waiting. It is what it is.

The support staff is also great - friendly, calm, and professional. I did have to wait a while to been seen, but once my consultation started, I could see that there were a lot of steps involved in processing a patient. Dr.Pollack is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He is thorough and attentive when addressing you. His staff is pleasant and respectful.
The only thing that detracts from the positive experience is the very , very long wait . On average I wait 2 hours before I even see the Dr. the whole visit can take 3 hours and that is without travel time . I lose a whole day in the process. My last visit I had a 9 am appt . I was not called to meet with the assistant until 11:05 am .
The office is small and patients often wait outside because it is sooo crowded.
