About Dr. Ashu Dhanjal

Dr. Ashu Dhanjal earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Lady Hardinge Medical College in India. After medical school, she pursued her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology at Marshall University, West Virginia. Dr. Dhanjal is a strong advocate of preventive cardiology and believes that many lives can be saved through awareness and education in the community about heart disease. To fulfill this mission, she served as a board member of the Northwest Arkansas American Heart Association. Another aspect of cardiology close to her heart is heart disease in women. As a wife and mother of two young girls, Dr. Dhanjal understands personally how challenging it can be to balance home life while also taking care of oneself. For the last eight years, she has been actively involved in the “Go Red for Women” campaign in collaboration with the American Heart Association to raise awareness about heart disease in women. She also served as the cardiologist for the Razorbacks in Northwest Arkansas. During her fellowship training at Marshall University, Dr. Dhanjal was highly involved in the care of high-risk pregnant women. Over the past eight years of her practice, she has worked closely with OB-GYN specialists to care for pregnant women with heart disease. Dr. Ashu Dhanjal is proud to make Jacksonville her home with her husband and two lovely daughters. She enjoys traveling, music, and spending time with her family at the beach.
