About Dr. B. Florian Miranzadeh
Dr. Miranzadeh serves as the Section Chief of Osteopathic Medicine in the Family Medicine Department at Illinois Masonic Hospital and Medical Center. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency at Michael Reese Hospital. Throughout his career, he has conducted medical book reviews and contributed to research, including a compilation for the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. As an academic and teaching physician, he has trained approximately 500 practicing physicians across the United States.
Dr. Florian Miranzadeh [pronounced mirin'zAdA] is board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He has served in many roles, including Emergency Room Attending, Senior Clinical Attending, Health Initiative Volunteer, Ask a Pediatrician Health Desk consultant, Nutritional Consultant for adolescents, and provider of health services to underprivileged and underserved communities. Always a slay with Dr. Miranzadeh. He listens well, does his due diligence, and has a sense of humor. He’s an excellent physician and I feel lucky to have him as my doctor.

Dr. Miranzadeh responded in a somewhat reactive manner to my questions. I shared a potential diagnosis, and his reaction made me feel uncomfortable and not safe at all to share more in detail. Although the condition was not contagious, it made me feel uneasy. I would not recommend Dr Miranzadeh. I would prefer to protect my mental health.

I went here because it was the only pcp I could see on short notice. I was first seen by someone, I believe a resident, who was fine. I then saw the Dr. Miranzadeh for what felt like 30 seconds, during which time he told me I may have had a very serious condition. He prescribed a CT scan and acted like I was an idiot for not having gone to an ER. Next thing I know, I’m out of the office thinking I might die with no further guidance whatsoever. I try to get the CT scan, but the hospital he wanted me to go to didn’t take my insurance. I take the prescription to another hospital, then I get a letter from my insurance company saying they won’t cover it because Miranzadeh prescribed it for “tension headaches” instead of the serious condition he told me I had. A week later I get a call from his office saying I need to avoid “fats & carbs,” which is just 2/3 of all macronutrients??? Fortunately, I was able to see another doctor who wasn’t patronizing and disrespectful.

My appointment took 2 hours just for a regular annual check-up. They ran some blood tests and the results were availabel online within a couple of days. I could see that a couple of markers were outside of the reference range listed, but I never received any sort of write-up or a note from the doctor. After waiting for a couple of weeks, I called the office, and the receptionist, at first, couldn't even find my blood reports. After she found my records, she told me that I should've already made another appointment to come talk to the doctor about my blood results. Basically, blaming me for waiting on the doctor's guidance on next steps. This is highly careless and greedy behavior.
