“Dr. Cox was great to work with, she is a great listener, communicator, and has great methods to help with therapies. If I could, I would remain with her, but unfortunately the Growth Therapy health services company that she works under is incredibly unorganized. I had major issues with the insurance and billing from the office, where they stopped taking my insurance after half of my scheduled visits, and charged me for an appointment, when they had emailed me prior that my appointment was free. Eventually I was refunded for extra charges, but it took a long time. Felt like a bait and switch. Good luck to you all, and I cannot recommend Dr. Cox highly enough.”

Getting to know Dr. Barbara Cox

Hi there, I'm Dr. Barbara. Do you feel pulled in a million directions, unable to fit it all in? Are you struggling to keep up with your relationships, work, and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I help high performers manage anxiety and avoid burnout. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. I also integrate mindfulness, guided imagery, life and career coaching tools, and accessing and changing deep-seated subconscious patterns to move you to a new state of mind—one that includes kindness and self-compassion toward your life and goals. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, work or relationship issues, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the patterns and habits holding you back. Let's work together! I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology and my Master’s degree from Alliant International University, San Diego, and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our work together is a catalyst leading you to your inner wisdom, helping you understand your goals and motivations and inner patterns, and teaching you tools to harness your power and self-esteem. The work is a game-changer, helping you access your full potential to build the life of your dreams. We will plot a course in the first session and discuss what works for you and what you need help with.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
