About Dr. Benjamin Kamel
Dr. Benjamin Kamel is a highly trained and Board Certified foot and ankle surgeon. Dr. Kamel received his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences where he graduated near the top of his class with honors and being inducted into the Pi Delta Honor Society. Dr. Kamel completed intensive surgical training locally with the additional credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA). He also was elected and served as Chief Resident in his final year of residency. During his residency training, Dr. Kamel worked at many different hospitals, most notably completing sports medicine training at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital as well as a high-level trauma rotation at Kaiser Permanente under some of the best-trained surgeons in the profession.
Dr. Kamel has received extensive surgical training in all aspects of the foot and ankle including sports medicine, trauma, forefoot &rearfoot reconstructions including flatfoot correction, bunion correction, cosmetic surgery, pediatric foot conditions, as well as surgical treatment of degenerative and arthritic conditions affecting the foot and ankle.
Dr. Kamel has co-authored and published several research articles in the field of foot and ankle surgery. He has also lectured at national conferences on topics related to sports medicine. He is currently clinical faculty at Western University of Health Sciences where he works with and teaches medical students and residents. He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Kamel was born and raised in Southern California. He loves to watch and play sports especially football and basketball. During his free time Dr. Kamel enjoys exercising, spending time with his family, and traveling with his wife.
Dr. Kamel is a compassionate and highly skilled surgeon who treats all of his patients like his own family. His main objective is for the very best outcomes and to get you moving on your feet pain-free. He is fluent in English and Arabic.

Doctor Kamel was friendly and knowledgeable and spent time explaining things clearly. The downside is the waiting time was very long, the waiting room was standing room only. I wasn’t called in until almost a one hour after appointment time. Once in the examine room, there’s more wait time before the doctor finally came in. My entire visit took 3 hours but it did include an x-ray and injection treatment.

My experience was good. Everyone was polite and business like. When the doctor came into the room he was energetic and had already reviewed my problem with his student so he had a decent idea of what my pain was from. Their system glitch lost any and all forms, i.d.'s and insurance card information as well as all of the zoc doc pre appointment forms. Staff was at a loss for where the information ended up. Phone calls I had regarding post office visit complications were not returned same day. I had to call five times to finally get an answer. Dr. K is good, very fast, experienced moderate pain during proceedure, handed a one page instruction sheet for post op procedure and was pretty much ushered out.

The doctor was very friendly and professional. Diagnosed the problem and began a treatment plan. Office staff was also friendly and helpful. Zocdoc dropped the ball while I was to make an appointment online. Filled out all the information then when it got to the part of taking a picture of my insurance cards, it kept telling me the page was reloading. So I called the office and made an immediate appointment. Thanks anyway!

Dr. Kamel is young and personable. He seems to know what he is doing very well. He related to me in layman terms. He didn't try to dazzle me with a lot of medical jargon. I was a little put off by the way my initial appointment was set up. First they made me fill out the forms on Zocdoc. Then someone from the doctors office called me and asked a lot of the same questions that were on the forms. Then, when I arrived at my appointment they asked me to fill out forms asking for the same information on the Zocdoc forms. This redundancy is off putting and frustrating.

I have had bunions for so long but recently they became so painful! I was so nervous to do surgery. Dr. Kamel came highly recommended to me & he did not disappoint. He corrected my bunions with a minimally invasive procedure & it turned out so beautiful! Dr. Kamel highly cares about his work & I can tell he cares about the cosmetic appearance as well. Could not recommend him enough.

I had been dealing with right foot pain for years and no one has been helpful with my problem. Dr. Kamel was the only doctor that listened and advised what I can do. I received orthotics a few weeks later and the pain is basically gone. He is an amazing doctor!
