Dr. Berta Newton received her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois in Chicago, and in 2017 she completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. She completed two ocular disease externships at a VA in Fort Wayne Indiana and at Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut with the emphasis on glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration as well as surgical post-operative co-management. Dr. Newton grew up near Grayslake Illinois and after completing her externships she decided to move back closer to home. Dr. Newton offers a full range of optometry services including comprehensive eye exams and state required school eye exams. Full range of contact lens fittings including soft, toric, multifocal, gas permeable, and MiSight. Ocular disease management such as glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration and dry eye. Dr. Newton also does co-management of post-operative LASIK, PRK, and cataract surgeries. In her spare time Dr. Newton enjoys running, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their two children
