John Brent Rhodes, Jr., was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended Catholic High School followed by Louisiana State University where he earned both Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees. He then attended the School of Medicine at Louisiana Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where he earned his Doctorate of Medicine. Dr. Rhodes completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Louisiana State University Internal Medicine Residency – Baton Rouge, during which he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. During that time, Dr. Rhodes focused on all aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology with a special interest in Small Bowel Enteroscopy, Biliary Disease, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He is Board Certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Rhodes and his wife Brooke have three children, Emmeline, John Brent, and Catherine. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, the outdoors, and playing piano, which has been a lifelong interest.
