Dr. Berghout completed a 24-month Podiatric Surgical Residency at Monrovia Community Hospital in 2000, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. His residency provided extensive training in forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle reconstruction, ankle arthroscopy, diabetic limb salvage, pediatric foot conditions, biomechanics, and wound care. Dr. Berghout provides comprehensive foot and ankle care with expertise in both conservative and surgical treatment. He has a particular interest in treating plantar fasciitis, diabetic foot conditions, sports injuries, traumatic injuries, pediatric foot disorders, and wound care. He also has extensive experience performing reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, ankle arthroscopy, and laser treatment for plantar fasciitis. Dr. Berghout believes in providing individualized treatment plans that emphasize conservative care whenever appropriate while offering advanced surgical solutions when needed to restore function, relieve pain, and improve quality of life. Outside of work, Dr. Berghout enjoys pickleball, hiking, camping, woodworking, photography, reading, music, and playing the drums. He is an Eagle Scout and has served as an Assistant Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. He also enjoys traveling and speaks fluent French, having served a church mission in Paris, France. Dr. Berghout supports patients in English and French.
