Getting to know Dr. Burhan Riaz

Initial session: $299 for 60 minutes. Ongoing session: $249 for 30 minutes. I accept AETNA Insurance. I'm pre-dominantly a private pay or out-of-network psychiatrist. This means you and I can spend more time focused on you and not within the restraints of insurance! Medicaid, Medicare, or any of its associated plans are NOT accepted. I'm an integrative psychiatrist dedicated to treating you as a whole person—mind, body, and soul. My approach blends holistic methods, like nutritional supplementation and mind-body practices, with traditional psychiatric treatments such as medication and counseling. I specialize in supporting individuals facing challenges like anxiety, ADHD, OCD, depression, and PTSD/trauma. My goal is to be more than just someone who prescribes medication—it's to build a lasting, trusted partnership with you, supporting your journey toward a happy and fulfilling life. I take a holistic approach to mental health, combining prescription medications and counseling with integrative methods like functional nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits! I received my B.S. in Molecular Biology and my B.A in Anthropology from the University of Central Florida, my M.D. from St. George's University, and, and Residency Training in Psychiatry from Richmond University Medical Center, where I served as Chief Resident. I now enjoy working primarily with people in outpatient settings! In my free time I enjoy travelling, comedy, photography (including astrophotography and drone photography), and hiking!

    I take select insurances (Aetna). Otherwise, I'm a private pay or out-of-network provider. I provide "superbills" or invoices that patients may take to their insurance companies for reimbursements. Patients typically are reimbursed 50-70% of the appointment fees depending on the visit type. I've also partnered with the "Reimbursify" app to make it simple to obtain reimbursements.

    Finding the right fit for psychiatric care can be difficult and requires so many nuanced elements to be aligned that sometimes you have to settle for certain areas to be lacking when you find a Doctor that you can tell is truly dedicated to your best possible care. Not so with Dr. Riaz. From his easy and affable demeanor to his truly adept and insightful approach to helping you identify sometimes oblique correlations to your particular distress he is really the total package. Elevated care doesn't just start and stop with each appointment he and his front of house team are so quick to respond when any of the myriad issues that come up in between appointments occur that it truly feels like they are always in your corner and that continuing care is an ongoing conversation rather than the usual austere monthly recap revolving door of many NYC caregivers. 10/10 just a fantastic doctor & team.
