Dr. C.J. Galatis, Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry, is committed to providing each patient with an exceptional level of care and attention. Our dedicated staff works together as a team to deliver high-quality, comprehensive care. Our compassionate and understanding doctors take pride in paying close attention to each patient's needs.
Dr. C.J. Galatis is conveniently located in Cleveland Circle, serving Chestnut Hill, West Roxbury, Brookline, Brighton, Allston, Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park, and surrounding areas. Our hours of operation are Monday to Saturday. We offer extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays and accept same-day appointments based on availability.

Our whole family has been seeing Dr Galatis for years. She is the best! All treatments and prescriptions are always spot on. She keeps up with all the latest research and certifications. I recommend her wholeheartedly.

Dr. Galatis has no waiting area for patients, so expects them to stand outside, in the cold, while she is an undefined number of minutes late for your appointment. I've never experienced anything like this.

Poor bedside manner, rapport, & extremely disorganized/cluttered office with flies...I was told I was 'a bad patient, just like all the other healthcare professionals..' and made to feel careless for not knowing the exact date of my most recent contact change. I felt belittled and uncomfortable during my session.
You could tell there was a lot of communication breakdown between Dr. Galatis & her secretary as well, as MD was over controlling with the secretaries duties, clearly causing increased wait times. However, Dr Galatis was still knowledgeable & very thorough in regards to COVID precautions which is why I gave her the 3 stars.. Will unfortunately not be returning.

Dr Galatis was very nice and did a thorough contact lens exam. However, the office was not what I was expecting. It is extremely cluttered, with papers stacked in high piles, and it is in need of renovation. For this reason alone, I probably wouldn’t recommend this office. However, if you do not care about that, she was very nice.

Very nice, personable and straightforward. The exam was not rushed, she asked a lot of questions and I had some vision tests that I've not seen (punny I know) before and was very patient with me. Very simple office, no frills, bells or whistles but I didn't need any of that, just a good eye exam. The practice is also (at least) bilingual as both the doctor and her recpetionist were speaking in Russian which is a bonus and not something I had seen mentioned in any other review.

Dr. Galatis was professional and kind. As a new patient, I felt like she took the time to ask me many initial questions and answer any questions I had before starting the examination. Her exam seemed thorough but efficient, and I left the appointment feeling confident about her diagnosis and prescription. I also didn't feel any pressure to make any glasses purchases from her directly. Overall, a good experience.

I used ZocDoc reviews to choose Dr. Galactis and was very happy I did. I agree that the office needs some organizing and some updating, but if you can see past that, Dr. Galactis is wonderful. I really loved her bedside manner. She asked alot of questions about what I do for work and how long I am looking at screens during the day. She was also extremely helpful with picking out my glasses. I really appreciated that she cared enough to tell me if a pair looked good or did not. I will be going back when I need another exam.

She was extremely patient and thorough and made sure to do all the tests that were needed to figure out the problem I was having with my current glasses and contact prescriptions. I had been over corrected for astigmatism in both eyes but only had it in one eye, and no one had ever even told me that before. I would highly recommend Dr. Galatis.

Went in for an annual eye exam and contact lens fitting - nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. She is friendly and prompt. I'm not sure if she wipes down the equipment (parts where chins/ foreheads touch) after every patient... Saw some weird foundation looking mark on one of them.

I got a routine eye exam for a new prescription. She was very thorough and great at her job. Everything was fine, except that she led me back out to the waiting area and immediately took the next patient without a goodbye or anything. Bedside manner is eh.

After a scratch persisted on my eye for about a month I went in to Dr. Galatis. She was shocked I had waited so long, but very kind and attentive. I saw her every other day for about 2-3 weeks and (as a recent college grad and fairly broke), she only charged me once, more concerned with getting my eye back to normal than getting paid. After 5 months (I had been diagnosed with a corneal ulcer), I can finally see (I was practically blind in that one eye) and can now wear contacts again. I should've gone in sooner, but Dr. Galatis was wonderful, helpful, and kind.
