About Dr. Carlos Jurado
Dr. Carlos J. Jurado earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad de Puerto Rico - Recinto de Carolina. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at San Juan City Hospital, both USA accredited. He is a Board Certified physician and Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In his pursuit and commitment to obtain the highest qualifications and training to better serve his patients, Dr. Jurado received a PhD degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Clinical Sexology from Maimonides University and a Certification in Clinical Sexology from the American Academy of Human Sexology. In his own words:
“The prevalence of sexual dysfunction is so widespread, but many patients simply do not know where to turn for help. I would like to be a source that they can count on.”
After relocating to the United States in 1990, he served as a physician in the United States Air Force. Dr. Jurado was honorably discharged, earning the rank of Major in 1992. Since his arrival to our community, Dr. Jurado has been providing quality health care to the female population in Broward County. Through both his private practice and his association with the Broward Health Community Services Department, he has delivered over 10,000 babies over a span of 28 years in practice. He has provided preventive, therapeutic, and surgical care to a large number of patients who have valued the personalized treatment, dedication, and expertise they received.
In recent years, through education and rigorous training, Dr. Jurado has added to his vast experience the necessary skills to bring his patients the most recent advances in surgical techniques. He has been successfully performing procedures such as Pelvic Floor Support Restoration, Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Surgeries (da Vinci Robotic-trained surgeon), incision-free permanent sterilization, and menstrual flow modification procedures in the office.
