Dr. Smith specializes in Diabetic Foot Care and treats a variety of foot conditions. Dr. Smith has had intensive training in Foot & Ankle surgery. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Monmouth College and received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degrees from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his post-graduate training with an internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center and residency at Bellaire Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Smith is board certified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. He is on the faculty at Loyola University Medical Center, and serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine and Surgery, Division of Surgery at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Smith is very knowledgeable and professional. He was very attentive and provided me with a very thorough examination. However,I almost left after my timely arrival because the receptionist was unprofessional and rude. She didn't greet me when I entered, so I decided to sign in until she was ready. While signing in, she began speaking to a patient who was exiting , and as I laid the pen on the clipboard I hear "What time is your appointment?", assuming she was still speaking to the male patient, I continued to turn around. This time she repeated herself with an even nastier tone than before. I turned around and asked if she was addressing me and she stared at me blankly. I then explained that I was unaware to whom she was speaking and she looked at me and said " Ok." From that point on she denied the ability to access my documentation resulting in me completing the paperwork that was already completed and she printed an incorrect appointment date. When I corrected her about the date , and explained that someone from the office contacted me a few days ago verifying all of my information, she became irate and agitated. Thankfully, Zocdoc contacted me for support and informed me that my paperwork was printed from their website days earlier- so... I wasn't mistaken. I was very disappointed with her nasty disposition and overall demeanor. I can only suggest that Dr. Smith is more selective in hiring front desk personnel. I really don't feel comfortable with her being responsible for handling my medical information. I'll definitely have to follow-up with my insurance company to make sure there are no "accidental errors" on my billing statement.

I thought treating a painful corn would be a simple procedure of removing the corn to relieve the pressure. Instead, Dr. Smith recommended surgery to cut into the bone to straighten the toe, thus correcting the problem to prevent future corn formations. After discussing this with my PCP, we agree that surgery is not a good solution for me at this time.

The office was dark, dingy and OLD, not welcoming at all. He asked that you pay upfront if you have not met your deductible. My appointment was for 1:00p and then changed to 1:15p and he still didn't make it to the office until 1:30p. His answers to my questions changed once it was challenged.

I was referred to Dr Smith by my primary care doctor. After an hour wait in the waiting room, I never did see Dr Smith. I saw another physician who ordered orthodic supports for my shoes and a night splint. Their office had run out of both of these items. They said they will call me when they get more supplies.
On the way home, I received a voicemail message from the office saying to call. When I called right back less than 2 minutes later, their answering service picked up and did not know if anyone was in their office or not.
