About Dr. Cecil Jordan Staples
Cecil “Jordan” Staples, MD, is a Board Certified Dermatologist at Westlake Dermatology, committed to fostering patient-centered care and building lasting therapeutic relationships.
As a native Texan, Dr. Staples graduated with a bachelor’s in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to medical school, he worked in late night television at Late Show with David Letterman. He then attended Texas A&M College of Medicine where he served as class president and graduated in the top quarter of his class.
He completed his residency training at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas, where he served as chief resident in his final year, honing his skills and expertise in dermatology. Upon graduation, Dr. Staples was the recipient of Outstanding Dermatology Resident award from Veteran Affairs of Central Texas Healthcare.
With a deep-rooted commitment to providing comprehensive care, Dr. Staples specializes in general medical dermatology, with a focus on conditions such as skin cancer, eczema, psoriasis, autoimmune conditions, acne, and rosacea. His approach emphasizes personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

I recently saw Dr. Staples after experiencing what I thought was a worsening case of jock itch. I had been applying clotrimazole cream, but my skin became severely inflamed, and I was worried my condition was getting out of control.
Dr. Staples quickly identified that I was actually having an allergic reaction to one of the OTC topical treatments, not an infection. He prescribed prednisone, and the results were almost immediate—my inflammation calmed down right away, and my skin returned to normal within five days.
He also took the time to recommend a serum and cream for the lingering hyperpigmentation, which I really appreciated.
Dr. Staples was efficient, knowledgeable, and reassuring throughout the process. Thanks to his quick diagnosis and treatment, I’m feeling completely back to normal. Highly recommend him!
