The visit was pleasant, informative and efficient. The doctor answered all of my questions thoroughly and discussed my options where appropriate. Minimal wait time and an overall friendly atmosphere.

As someone who has worked in healthcare alongside executives, I’m disheartened by how disconnected this visit felt. The NP seemed more focused on her computer than on understanding my symptoms, appearing fearful of Dr. Gutwin Sr.—even correcting me as if she’d be reprimanded. When I explained my condition, the doctor dismissed me, saying I “wasn’t making sense” simply because I didn’t use textbook pain descriptors like “sharp” or “dull.” I felt unheard and dehumanized. Shockingly, this private office experience was worse than what I’ve seen in under-resourced public hospitals. I was scheduled for an endoscopy but will cancel both the procedure and follow-up. As someone who implements AI for enterprise healthcare systems, it’s clear: when empathy and active listening are absent, AI will, and should replace providers like these.
