About Dr. Christopher Ropiak

Dr. Christopher Ropiak is a native of Staten Island, N.Y. He graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then attended New York University School of Medicine where he received his Doctorate of Medicine degree.
After medical school, he completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, which ranks among the top residency programs in the country. While at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, Dr. Ropiak earned the distinction of being selected by the faculty and administration to serve as an Executive Chief Resident. During residency, he trained under nationally and internationally recognized orthopedic surgeons who are leaders in their fields. In his fourth year, he completed additional specialized training in orthopedic trauma surgery at Tampa General Hospital, a center known for managing high-speed, polytrauma cases. Dr. Ropiak also worked with the Harkness Dance Center Injuries during his residency training in New York City, providing care to injured New York City dancers, including professional dancers for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet.
Dr. Ropiak pursued his subspecialty interest in sports-related injuries by completing a fellowship in sports orthopedic surgery at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. There, he assisted in the game-day, clinical, and surgical care of several professional teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lakers, Kings, Sparks, and Anaheim Mighty Ducks. He also assisted in the care of the athletic teams at the University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount University. Working among pioneers and leaders in the field of sports medicine, Dr. Ropiak has been trained in cutting-edge arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee.

Dr. Ropiak is Fantastic!! This was our first visit, this Dr. All members of the staff we encountered today were sensational. They were prompt, kind polite & helpful. I visited OrthoNJ in Clark, NJ on 6/21/24 and had an x-ray done. Unfortunately, I continued to experience issues in the following months, so I called in early August 2024 to request an MRI. The woman I spoke with assured me she'd follow up, but I never heard back.
I've since decided to seek treatment with another provider and requested a copy of my x-ray. I've left a message for the records department, but no one has responded. They don't answer the phone, and I urgently need that x-ray to assist in my ongoing treatment. While I could get a new x-ray, it seems unreasonable to incur additional time and costs, both for myself and my insurance.
Additionally, I overpaid my bill, which included a co-pay that I had already paid during my visit. I'm still waiting for that refund.
