“Dr Urband was wonderful. Unfortunately the office did not have me on his schedule even though I had two confirmations from Zocdoc. I think that caused the long wait to see the doctor. ”

My rationale for 3/5 stars is to remind MDs that patients are first & foremost 'customers' I will say that Dr Urband was easy to speak with, but hurried. To that end I left feeling no better about about my ailment in that he 'heard' me, but didn't fully 'listen' attentively to further investigate; I am befuddled that a CT-scan was not ordered. Some of my concerns were treated with dismissiveness and I plan to seek a second opinion given I left disappointed w/o hope of a thorough concern for the unaddressed pain I went to bed with last night and woke up to as has been the case for the last five months. Again, he and staff were friendly and professional. But as a fellow Doctor (albeit a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering) I pride myself on two principles that supersede my expertise - complete attention to detail and ensuring my customers needs/problems are listened to in finite detail. Thank-you

he is attentive and mindful.
I had a knee injury on a Thursday. First, I thought it's minor so I got myself a pair of crutches, but 2 days later I realized this injury was different, so out of desperation during COVID, I found Dr. Urband via ZocDoc (something I will never use again). I saw him on the Monday. At this point, my knee has been locked for 5 days. I couldn't walk nor straighten my leg. This period was extremely anxiety-provoking since I had to move to a different city in 2.5 weeks and my insurance was going to end at the same time. At Torrey Pines Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, the wait was about 45 minutes. He suggested surgery to fix my injury, ordered an urgent MRI, which took 3 days for insurance to authorize. During the wait period, it was extremely difficult trying to get a hold of someone. There was no answer when I emailed Dr. Urband's assistant. The assistant finally emailed me back the next Monday and apologized for the delay and said Dr. Urband would get back to me within the next few hours. That few hours turned into 6 days. I decided to pick up my MRI CD and see another orthopedist. By the time he called me back, I had already met my new amazing surgeon to discuss MRI results in details and scheduled a surgery. There is no sympathy by this doctor and the clinic. How can they sit on my MRI result for 6 days? (The report was read by the radiologist in an hour). There was no sense of urgency in the matter. Dr. Urband is nice when I talk to him, but something is def. wrong with this organization. Everything went extremely well with my new doctor. This was a blessing in disguise. I received a call 6 days later from him. In the meanwhile, I was receiving instructions to prep for surgery the following day from my new doctor. My advice to you - if you have something serious and urgent, do not come to this place. The vibe there is horrible. I called the office and 8 out of 10 times directs me to the voice mail and one Friday the office was off and I had no idea. One time the woman had a big sigh after asked her for another person (i don't want to name them). I am thankful Dr. Urband's team is so careless and unreachable. Your negligence led me to a surgeon with an A+ team that's 10000 times better than you all. A team that is caring, responsive and attentive.

Dr. Urband and his team are highly professional and experienced. I really liked that there was immediate follow up on every aspect of my care. The X-ray was on site so that made things easier as well. Dr. Urband is very knowledgeable and does an extensive exam. Lucy in scheduling was very organized and welcoming. Kelly the X-ray technician also was extremely proficient. Very pleased with my experience and would highly recommend.

I tore my ACL and found Dr.Urband here on ZocDoc. I was seen very quickly and their staff was all very nice! Dr. Urband is very knowledgeable and explained everything really well. He laid out all my options for me, leaving the ultimate decision of what I wanted to do and what kind of graft I wanted up to me which I appreciated! He was very nice when I got light headed half way through as I'm pretty squeamish when it comes to my own body. I also really liked that he took the time to do a physical exam of my leg as well as looking through the MRI I brought in and explaining it to me! Overall he was very reassuring and attentive!
So lucky to have found this place and especially Dr Urband. Very knowledgeable, professional and nice person with great bedside manner! Spend plenty of time with me and genuinely cared about my treatment!!! Would give more stars if able!
