“Dr. Van Damme was very personable. He put me at ease. He took his time to answer my questions and he drew a picture of a hammer toe which is what I came to see him about and he explained in non medical terms what he would do. He has a very nice bedside manner! I was only disappointed that he is not part of Honor Health where all my other doctors are a member of.... makes record keeping, tests, reports, etc. much easier to track.”

About Dr. Christopher Van Damme
As a Phoenix native, Dr. Christopher Van Damme understands the needs of the community. Dr. Van Damme specializes in rearfoot and flatfoot reconstruction, forefoot reconstruction, sports medicine, ankle arthroscopy, adult and pediatric bunion surgery, diabetic surgery, and wound care.
After serving The Valley for 9 years as a 9-1-1 EMT and Paramedic, he pursued his Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Van Damme received his medical degree from Temple University and joined Foot + Ankle Specialty Centers after completing his three-year surgical training at the Level-1 trauma center and home of the Arizona Burn Center, Valleywise Health.
Dr. Van Damme believes in treating all patients conservatively although has been well-trained to perform Foot and Ankle surgery to those in need.
When Dr. Van Damme isn’t working, he embraces the outdoors. Ask him about one of his many trips to Germany, Costa Rica, Iceland, Wales, Mexico City, Yosemite or inquire about some of his favorite hobbies such as running, rock climbing, golf, and spending time with his Chocolate Lab.

Haphazard ingrown toe nail removal. Provider was distracted having bro talk with medical student and seemed in a hurry to start cutting.
Made pitch for removing nail to avoid future issues, but didn’t give care to finding broken pieces left in my skin or cutting the angle to avoid future penetration in skin. I would recommend finding a different doctor who has more experience and professional demeanor.
I had to go to a different provider to fix the butcher work of this physician. Makes sense why he was available on short notice.

Wonderful experience with this office. Dr. Van Damme took the time to listen to my concerns with my toenails and then he recommended I see another doc in the office as she is the “nail expert”. He even scheduled the appt for me with Dr. Kennedy. I just had my appt with her and she was also wonderful.

Very efficient and trustworthy I just wish I had done this a lot sooner! I trusted what he saw and said what was wrong after seeing 2 previous surgeons that wanted to do something totally different. I went with surgery and had it done 2 weeks after appointment. The hospital was very nice and the nurses were great, my mom did have a melt down because we were there 9 hours so make sure your driver is aware. I did not get a follow up call from anyone or the hospital but other than that the procedure was wonderful. I would definitely go to him for other issues in the future, I am embarrassed by the last person I saw for a year I don't think she had a clue of what she was doing. Just wish I would have found him sooner.
