Psychologist
IL
I am the owner and founder of the Willoughby Center for Behavioral Health, LLC, and recipient of the distinguished alumni award from Oakton College in 2024. As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, I enjoy working with individuals, adolescents, and families navigating the complexities of relationships, emotional well-being, and life transitions. I value creating a collaborative, compassionate, and culturally responsive therapeutic environment that honors each person's unique experiences, strengths, and perspectives. My clinical experience includes working with diverse populations and individuals experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, substance use, personality disorders, and significant life transitions. I also have specialized experience in grief counseling, end-of-life planning, and supporting individuals impacted by sexual trauma. My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), along with mindfulness-based techniques. Drawing particularly from ACT, I help clients develop psychological flexibility, increase awareness of the present moment, and cultivate a more accepting relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions. I encourage individuals to identify what matters most to them, clarify their personal values, and take meaningful, intentional steps toward living a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. I place particular emphasis on values clarification and behavioral activation, helping clients move beyond patterns of avoidance and become more engaged in behaviors that support their personal goals and sense of purpose. My goal is to help individuals build resilience, strengthen their relationship with themselves and others, and develop the skills and flexibility to navigate life's challenges with greater openness, self-compassion, and intention.
