About Dr. Courtney Mcclurkin

Dr. McClurkin is an associate podiatrist at Lakewood Foot and Ankle Specialists, as well as wife to Dr. Burge! She is from the Philadelphia, PA area, and she and Dr. Burge met while earning their degrees at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. McClurkin completed her surgical residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ, where she received excellent training in wound care, limb salvage, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, including both elective and trauma surgery. Dr. McClurkin takes a special interest in sports medicine, owing to the fact that she was a tri-sport athlete in college and still competes in multiple sports today. Dr. McClurkin is also well-trained in conservative treatment therapies, with an emphasis on avoiding surgery when possible, but expediting it when necessary. During her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and competes in multiple leagues across the Dallas area. She can also be found running around White Rock Lake, where she trains for everything from 5k’s to marathons. When it’s time to rest, she and Dr. Burge both love taking their two boxers to the local dog park and meeting up with other human and canine friends! Dr. McClurkin’s goal is to optimize each patient’s treatment and get them back in action. Sometimes that means getting back to marathon training, sometimes that means healing a chronic wound…and sometimes that just means getting rid of a pesky wart or fungus. She is excited to be able to provide quality foot and ankle care for her own neighbors here in east Dallas.
