I am a Board Certified Adult and Forensic Psychiatrist and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. I have experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including psychotic disorders (schizophrenia and delusional disorder), mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, addiction disorders, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and personality disorders. I have particular expertise in performing forensic evaluations, such as conservatorship, guardianship, testamentary capacity, fitness for duty, worker's compensation, sexual harassment, and medical malpractice assessments. I perform thorough diagnostic assessments and, when appropriate, coordinate your care with your primary care doctor and other sub-specialists. My treatment recommendations are individualized based on your unique background and presentation and can include medications, therapy, and lifestyle changes.
I completed my medical school training at Universitatea de Medicina si Farmacie Iuliu Hatieganu Facultatea de Medicina. I completed my psychiatry residency and forensic fellowship training at Saint Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, DC. I have served and continue to serve on the Board of Directors of the Washington Psychiatric Society and the Mid-Atlantic Group Psychotherapy Society, in the American Psychiatric Association's Assembly, and on multiple committees in the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. In these positions, I am able to see the larger picture of mental health, the benefits of organized psychiatry, and advocate for changes in our mental health community.
