Getting to know Dr. DaJonitta Richmond

Total Wellness Mental Health Care! My mission is to help individuals become the best version of themselves. I assist those who are ready to participate in their wholeness journey, so they can stop living life beneath their potential. I don't just practice psychiatry; I specialize in treating the entire person. I value taking adequate time to obtain a complete understanding of a person's makeup-body, soul, and spirit. I fuse my clinical experience, counseling skills, and medical knowledge to help optimize your total wellness. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from UTMB Health - University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, completed my Residency in Adult Psychiatry at John Peter Smith Hospital, and pursued a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychology at UTMB Health. I also hold a Bachelor's degree from Xavier University of Louisiana. My practice is designed for those who desire to approach their mental health holistically. I believe medications have their place in treating symptoms; however, I am passionate about helping those I serve do their inner work and make lifestyle changes so they can experience sustained fulfillment. In today's society, living a dull and mentally exhausting life has become so normalized. It's not supposed to be this way! I want to partner with you to help you finally overcome what's preventing you from experiencing the peace you deserve.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I treat the WHOLE human!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will have an initial evaluation in which we will establish a diagnosis. We will then continue our therapeutic relationship with follow ups, as often as needed, to optimize treatment. Prior to your initial evaluation, you will need to fill out consents and our intake form. Credit card information will need to be on file.
