About Dr. Damaris Miranda
Dr. Damaris Miranda received her Bachelor of Science degree with double majors in Physiology and Psychology from the University of California at Davis. She graduated with honors and received her medical degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Dr. Miranda completed her residency in a top 10 ranked Obstetrics and Gynecology hospital at the Columbia University Medical Center/ New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, where she served as Chief Resident. After completing residency she became an Attending Physician and Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. As part of her teaching role, she was involved in the training of OB/GYN Residents. During her time there, she was awarded the Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures Award by The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and she was nominated for the Resident Excellence in Teaching and Humanism Award of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation.
Dr. Miranda is married to Dr. Andres Orjuela, an Otolaryngologist who also practices in Miami. Together they have two daughters. Dr. Miranda was born in Nicaragua and raised in the United States. She is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Miranda is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and she is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has over 10 years of experience seeing OB-GYN patients and joined the team of South Miami OB-GYN Associates in 2006. She absolutely loves her clinical practice and enjoys following up with returning OB-GYN patients or getting to know her new patients.

Love Dr. Miranda. She’s very professional and at the same time very friendly and approachable. She’s very knowledgeable, a good listener and gives you options for you to choose and decide what you want. I prefer the Doral location and would love for her to have more availability there.
