About Dr. Dana Teller
A patient-focused physician, Dr. Dana Ortiz looks after the communities of West Orange and Madison, NJ. Dr. Ortiz is a caring obstetrician and gynecologist welcoming people for consultations at the Rubino OB/GYN Group. Dr. Ortiz earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Dr. Dana Teller was excellent in every way. Out of all doctors I have ever seen, she made me feel the most comfortable and the least rushed while also being highly efficient and knowledgeable. She was an excellent fit for me. Office staff were lovely as well. I would recommend this doctor without hesitation to anyone! It was such an unexpectedly pleasant experience.

Dr. Ortiz and other doctors at the Rubino group have all been great throughout my pregnancy. However, I've been repeatedly disappointed in the general support at the Rubino group. On average I wait between 45 min and 1.5 hours before seeing the doctor at each visit. Additionally, very standard requests seem to be a huge hassle to get complete. For example, I've been requesting a prescription for a breast pump for over 2 months. The fulfilling pharmacy has reached out with an e-request 8 different times, I've left 3 unanswered messages on the Rubino group line, and 2 different doctors have assured me in person that it would be taken care of, needless to say it still has not been taken care of... Another example of this frustration is getting work leave paperwork complete. The Rubino Group will not take any paperwork requests before 34 weeks of pregnancy. My work policies required the paperwork to be complete much sooner than this in order to approve standard work leave at 36 weeks. I am disappointed in the lack of flexibility to work with patients on needs like this.

Dr. Ortiz is the best OB-Gyn I've ever been to. Excellent bedside manner, very thorough and comprehensive exam, she operates as an OB-GYN should (i.e. also as a general practitioner or PCP - treating the WHOLE patient, not just operating in the silo of her specialty). Little to no discomfort during the exam, I felt heard and all my concerns were addressed.
