Getting to know Dr. Daniel Perez

Dr. Dan Perez began his educational journey after discharging from the Army in 2005. He found that his experiences offered a unique perspective on life and decided to use this perspective to help others in any way he could. While in college, Dr. Perez became fascinated with psychology and the process of resilience after traumatic or extremely difficult experiences. This fascination evolved into a desire to learn more about morality and how humans determine right from wrong. Each of these experiences deepened Dr. Perez's understanding of the human experience and allowed him to apply his research in therapy to assist his patients. Dr. Perez earned his PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School, further advancing his expertise in mental health care. He served in the U.S. Army as an enlisted Airborne Infantryman, stationed at Fort Richardson, AK, with the 1/501st Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR). In 2003, he was deployed to FOB Salerno (Khost, Afghanistan) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His medals and awards include the Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, and Expert Marksman Badge.
