Getting to know Dr. Danielle Nishida

Hi there, I'm Danielle! My name is Danielle Nishida and I am a licensed psychologist. I am a multifaceted and open-minded therapist with an enthusiasm for life and an uplifting demeanor. I work within the values of courage, compassion, and integrity while remaining humble and down to earth. I have well-rounded training and education paired with an inspirational personality and an array of life experiences, making me an insightful and effective therapist. I hold Doctoral, Master's, Bachelor's, and Associate's degrees from esteemed institutes such as Pepperdine University and the University of California, Santa Barbara. My academic achievements include honorary recognition at each level of my University education and published authorship of my doctoral dissertation about music and healing. I have almost a decade of experience working with severe and pervasive mental illness and dual diagnoses, training and therapy proficiency in geriatrics and addiction, as well as knowledge and skills working with adolescents suffering from severe emotional disturbance. I currently hold the position of clinical director at Hillmont House; a mental health facility highly recognized and sought out for its impressive success rates. I co-founded and run a non-profit (SICChouse), that uses music, art, and mindfulness to foster a healing community that helps people live in line with their passions. We currently sponsor music lessons for children and host alternative healing modalities for the public. I am also the psychologist for an Integrative medicine doctor that integrates eastern and western philosophies and modalities. I have volunteer experience at a level two trauma center hospital where I shadowed the palliative care psychologist and worked alongside medical doctors. I engaged in 6 years of educational volunteer work with elementary-aged children where I led learning centers and assisted with socio-emotional issues.
