About Dr. David Erstein
Dr. David Erstein is the founder of Allergy and Asthma Wellness. He holds certification from the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Erstein obtained his undergraduate degree from New York University, and his Master’s degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He obtained his medical degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical College. His internship and residency in Internal Medicine were completed at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. His fellowship in Allergy and Immunology training was completed at Downstate Medical Center as well. Dr. Erstein was granted the Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program fellowship from 2007-2008 at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Erstein is an active member of the professional organizations American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, Brooklyn Allergy Society as well as the New York Allergy Society. Throughout his career, he has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, presented medical research at meetings across the country and was involved in creating educational videos about seasonal allergies, for the Long Island College Hospital.
Dr. Erstein has notable expertise in nasal and ocular allergies, sinusitis, asthma, and anaphylaxis. In addition, he is an expert in evaluating food and medication allergies, cosmetic allergies, diseases of the skin, insect sting reactions, and latex allergies. Dr. Erstein is very good with children and I liked him a lot. however he is no longer at this practice. The last time I came here, my children were treated by someone else who was not as knowledgeable/experienced. Also there was a long wait time and the office seemed disorganized. I would reccommend Dr Erstein, not this practice in itself.

I want to acknowledge the professional and polite manner I was treated by the administrative staff, assistants, and Dr. Erstein.
That said, this was the most chaotic doctor's office I've ever been to.
1. I got a confirmation via ZocDoc for a 4 pm appointment. I showed up before 4 and learned that I didn't have an appointment, but they could see me at 6 pm. Two hours.
2. The waiting room was so full that people were waiting outside the door to the office. They took 30 minutes to copy my insurance card. That's how overbooked they were.
3. I've had allergy skin tests before, but nothing like this. Instead of alcohol wipes to disinfect my arm, they put some Purell on a paper towel and rubbed my arm down; instead of a chair with arm rests to hold my arms still, I got an old pillow pulled out of a drawer for my lap. While the test was running, I got kicked out of my examination room and was sent back to the waiting room, allergens and hives on my arms and all.
I got what I needed, but I wouldn't recommend this office at all.

I was surprised because the office was a "Medical Spa," but the appointment inside was very professional. Dr. Erstein was great. He listened carefully, answered all of my questions, and was attentive to my needs and concerns.

This visit is way too pleasant more than I expected. We didn't have to wait long to see Doctor Erstein. Our communication was great and clear, he listened and wrote down in details. Then we did the skin test, the nurse who did it was very nice. Overall, I highly recommend Dr Erstein and his staffs.

Dr. Erstein was kind and helpful. He provided me with good information to help avoid further asthma attacks and allergies. He understood I could not do multiple visits and combined testings in one. The staff were nice and very courteous. I would definitely go back. The only thing to be aware of is that there are a lot of children that get treated there and the space is small, but that was not a big issue.

I scheduled to come in for treatment a particular allergy. I waited and then was told they did not have the kit (but since they were charging me for the appointment did I want a general testing, which I took) but would contact me when they did have the proper kit and that they could treat me for this condition. They did not contact me and after a month I called. There was much messaging and trouble getting through. The secretary finally got back to me to say it was on order and they would contact me. Same at 2 months, 3, and 4. I never received treatment from this doctor.

It was a really nice experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The space is clean and very homey decor, - it felt like visiting a tastefully decorated friends house. Dr. Erstein is knowledgable and easy to understand when he explains conditions. He is easy to talk to, and one of the staff, Barbara was really kind and put me at ease made me comfortable right away. I would recommend this office in a heartbeat. I wish all my doctors offices were as nice!

Very attentive doctor, he asked both me and my daughter questions, and allowed us both to answer to our best knowledge and let us know it was okay if we werent sure. My daughter is 3 and she was extremely comfortable having the doctor and his staff run the tests for allergy. i like that even after my daughter didnt have much of a reaction at the time, and i still had concerns, he was more than willing to advise further testing to help seek an answer to the question that i have and didnt dismiss it. ironically enough my daughter had an allergic reaction to something right after so though she wasnt reative during testing there clearly is still something that is triggering an allergy. so we are all set for the further testing, and it was a good thing we had already discussed this!
Hightly recommended for both children and adults!

Dr Erstein is great, but his office staff is way too busy. Spent 30 minutes trying to pay when I was leaving because the receptionist was on the phone. Not cool.

I wish I could go back in time so I could see Dr. Erstein sooner. I've been suffering from seasonal allergies all of my life and I now feel like I have a plan to help get them under control. Dr. Erstein is so on top of his game that you might think he's a psychic. After glancing at my test results, he said to me that he bet my allergies had gotten really rough about a week ago. And that was EXACTLY when they started to act up. It turns out that he keeps up with daily pollen counts and knew that my particular allergens had risen around that time. That's pretty awesome. I only wish that his office staffs' professionalism was as highly commendable. I found the front desk staff to be extremely curt and, at one point, two of the staff argued with each other over which room I should sit in while an assistant performed a second test. At the end of the day, Dr. Erstein's professionalism more than makes up for this but it really is a shame that such an A player is surrounded by a B team.
