About Dr. David Sylvester
Dr. Dave Sylvester is the Clinic Director of Harborside Sport & Spine, a multi-specialty practice in downtown Jersey City. The practice philosophy embraces an integrative approach, offering Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, and Massage Therapy all at one location. We also now offer spinal decompression, which is used to treat herniated discs of the cervical and lumbar spine. Dr. Dave received his Bachelor's degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and his Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine from Life University in Atlanta, GA. From 2002 to 2005, Dr. Sylvester served as the Lead Chiropractor at Wall Street Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in Manhattan, NY. He has brought his experience from a multifaceted sports medicine practice to Harborside Sport & Spine. Dr. Dave specializes in non-surgical treatment for musculoskeletal conditions. As a Board-certified Chiropractic Physician, his areas of expertise include disc and nerve injuries, sports injuries, and migraine headaches.

This office is quite chaotic. I was seen 3 different doctors none of which were Dr. Sylvester. The positive thing is they do take a moment to explain what they are doing and why. Before treatment I was given a full explanation of what the plan

This was my first time ever seeing a PT/Chiropractor and I’m glad I chose this practice as my first. The staff was incredibly nice, helpful, and informative, as was Dr Svylester. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back if I need any PT or Chiropractic help in the future.

Dr. Sylvester was super friendly and professional. I came in for a slipped disc and I saw resolution of my pain after one visit. At my second visit, The doctor read my x-rays and suggested ongoing treatment. I wasn’t interested in a series of appointments because my problem had been resolved. The doctor was very understanding and didn’t even charge me for my visit! So refreshing compared to other doctors. I can highly recommend him!???

Dr. Sylvester and his tram were kind, and thoughtful. There was barely any waiting and my needs were heard. I was suffering from pain due to bunion in my right foot. Instead of “treating “ it and merely taking money from me, the doctor was honest and told me that he won’t be able to do much. I appreciated that integrity very much. They got me doing some exercises right away for the tennis elbow and gave me an adjustment too. The first visit was complimentary but the Doctor offered such exceptional service that I booked my next appointment right away.

I have visited a lot of chiropractors and PT over time, but I found a very different approach here. The doctors instead of straight away getting to treatment ran diagnostics to identify root cause of my back issue and took the time to explain in detail what was the prognosis and course of treatment. In the past the focus usually was on fixing symptoms (since I usually came in with a bad backache) but here the course of treatment was designed to fix root cause. I have gone to 4 sessions now and fee years of strain addressed already. There have been telephonic follow ups to check progress as well. All in all very professional, highly recommended outfit! Very grateful for the help!

This place runs like a well oiled machine. Everyone knows all patients by first name. They use multiple treatment modalities outside of adjustments (including massage) making for a comprehensive treatment plan. I will never stop going!

Doctor David is very friendly, knowledgebleable and considerate. He kindly explained what's going on with my back pain, what his suggested plan was for next 4-6 weeks and future phases, what we were going to do and so on. His plan and solution seemed to make sense phase to phase and I've been following. In fact, the pain has been getting less and less with 2-3 sessions a week over one and half months. Other doctors and admin receptionists in the office are also very friendly and always welcome nicely and take good care of patients. They never let me wait more than 5 minutes for starting treatments or acupuncture therapy in every appointment. I also try to get there on time not to mess up their plan as my apprecaition to their great job. Another thing that I would recommend his office called Harborside Sport and Spine is that they provide everything and whatever your body needs to heal like Chiropractic, Physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, spinal decompression. Doctor David and the other doctors utilize all these methods to address source of your pain by adjusting and progressing your plan. I've been satisfied with their treatment so far and I can't believe how amazing I feel my back when I have almost no pain now. I may give another feedback when my whole treatment is completed.
