Excellent Dr. Very through and knowledgeable . Reception staff ,Tiffany went above and beyond patient service! Even the MA was outstanding! I had a very bad experience with my provider but I will be going to this office from now on. 5 stars!

Dr. Wenz attended Rutgers University in New Jersey where he received his B.A. in Biology. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Optometry with honors at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Upon completion, Dr. Wenz joined a smaller group in NJ where he practiced several years before moving on to a busy group practice with a strong emphasis on ocular pathology and trauma. He gained invaluable experience managing many glaucoma and corneal cases working along side two sub-specialists while heading the contact lens department.
After discovering the Portland metro area while visiting family in the Northwest several years ago, Dr. Wenz and his wife fell in love with the area and decided to relocate. Their love for the outdoors and active lifestyle helped seal the deal. In his spare time, Dr. Wenz enjoys numerous outdoor activities including snowboarding, whitewater kayaking, surfing and mountain-climbing.

Dr. Wenz was great! Eye Health NW is way overpriced!!! Go see Dr. Wenz and buy the glasses at Costco.

He was very thorough and comforting! He made me understand everything he was doing, and explained to me in detail my results. He found a lot of errors that my previous eye doc had missed. I'm so very happy with him!!! His technition was wonderful as well! She was very understanding about my anxiety surrounding the appointment, and was very accommodating to that! I couldn't be happy with either of them! And the tech will make a great eye doctor one day!

Dr. Wenz was wonderful and made me feel at ease and not at all pressured during my eye exam. He answered all my questions and was kind and patient. I will always ask for him for future eye exams. The office staff were friendly, efficient, and professional. It was a very pleasant experience.

I'm leaving this response for my son who also was seen by doctor Wenz on the same day.
Liked how he answered his questions, "didn't make me feel stupid in the questions I asked." My son felt that this was an important part to him, he is 15 and liked that he wasn't talked down to, but rather Dr.Wenz treated his questions and opinions as valued.
My son also feels that too much time is spent with an assistant , that he feels more time from the doctor doing the exam is important. Especially since he had eye issues at a young age. This doesn't reflect on Dr. Wenz as we understand its probably the clinics practice

Nice office, convenient free parking, pleasant staff. Dr. Wenz took the time to answer my questions and I especially appreciated his patience during the vision exam because I'm sure it gets very boring to go back and forth between lens adjustments while a patient decides "which one's better."

We seen dr. Wenz because our normal doctor was not available. He seemed to have gone over the records and was informed about our situations, so he did his homework before meeting with us. He answered questions we had and did his best to make us feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation.
One thing I find disturbing and this has nothing to do with doctor wenz, is patients at eye health NW, spend more time with the assistant then they do with the doctor. Personally I feel the doctor should be more hands on with the people they see.

This was the most thorough eye examination I have had since the USAF tested me for pilot training. Dr Wenz was constantly concerned about my comfort and explained options for my eye issues. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and top notch professionals.

This review is from my thirteen year olds perspective,, he seen doctor Wenz as well.
My son said that he liked how doctor Wenz treated him as "person instead of a kid" and that he liked how he answered his questions without making him feel "silly".
He also said " I wish we spent more time with him and less time with his helper."
