This was not my first visit to St. Lucie Eye Associates, but it was my first visit with this particular doctor, Dr. Ohlstein. I was highly impressed with his knowledge. He immediately diagnosed the cause of my Blepheritis and dry eye as being a symptom related to the rosacea I have on my face - a connection nobody else had ever made previously. In fact, I always thought I just have a ruddy complexion due to my Irish heritage - I never realized that I actually have a skin condition. I do have to say that I found the wait to be somewhat excessive, particularly as I had this appointment scheduled several weeks in advance and was sent no less than 4-6 text messages and emails to confirm it over the past week. They obviously overbooked. The wait time above refers to the general waiting room. I waited another 15-30 minutes in the examining room between seeing the assistant and the doctor appearing. I happen to be on vacation this week, but had I been working, this would have posed a problem for me. That said, Dr. Ohlstein was worth the wait. I'll just make a mental note to take a Personal Day off from work when I need to see him in the future.
The entire staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. The Dr. was professional, yet personable! Overall a very positive experience.

The entire staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. The Dr. was professional, yet personable! Overall a very positive experience.

New patient, had to complete paperwork upon arrival. Staff verified insurance info, told me cost up front and had me in the chair within 20 minutes of arrival (including the time I took for filling out the forms). Doc gave me an overview, asked about potential eye diseases in family history, told me what has a higher probability and some of the signs. Got me an updated Rx for eyewear and contacts, checked stability of my Rx from personal history, answered several questions about future treatment and options at the office or through associated corrective surgery centers.
The doctor himself was professional and answered all my questions. The ladies at the front desk was another story. Not professional at all.
Verified patient
The doctor was great. His receptionist at the front desk was a bit gruff and not friendly. However, once I went back the nurse and the doctor were very professional and ones I will go to again.
Verified patient
I was impressed with the amount of tests that I was given to check my vision issues. Dr Ohlstein has a great bedside manner and everyone in the office was very nice. I would definitely recommend.

When I got to the fort pierce office the front desk said that there office does not use Zoc Doc and I had to fill out my paperwork all over again. When I showed her the email about my appointment she was just rude and did not care. She was very unprofessional. The doctors assistant was extremely nice and very helpful. Wait time was 1 hour and 15 minutes. I will probably never go back.
Very professional service from all the people I encountered. However, filling out your form online was a waste of time as they use a different form. Perhaps a little coordination would solve the problem. Otherwise I was satisfied. Thanks for asking!

Dr. Ohlstein is wonderful, asked me questions about my condition, was communicative and clear about my situation.Very nice person and I will return as a patient of his. In addition I feel he went the extra mile since he provided me with two additional referrals for specialists I need for my prosthetic left eye. In addition the lady that helped me at the rereception desk was super funny & sweet (too bad I'm not remembering her name). She called the doctor referred by Dr.Ohlstein and made an appointment for me with that office for next week. How cool is that? Besides the long wait time (which got a little ridiculous- about 1:30 min), this is a great office. I recommend ??
