Dr. Derek J. Slovak is a native of Ennis, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. He earned his medical degree from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Slovak completed a three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at INOVA Fairfax Hospital and Georgetown Hospital Center, a level 1 trauma center in Fairfax, Virginia near Washington D.C. He has comprehensive training in trauma, diabetic limb salvage, elective surgery, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, as well as arthroscopic procedures. He is Board Certified through the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Slovak is a member of American Podiatric Medical Association, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Slovak lives in Concord, NC and has been with Carolina Foot and Ankle since July, 2008. He and his wife share a love of College Football and their two sons Connor and Carter. Saturdays during football season, the whole family will be cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Texas Aggies.
