About Dr. Donald Rose
Dr. Donald J. Rose, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, is the founding director of the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries at the NYU Langone Orthopaedic Hospital. He specializes in sports and dance injuries, as well as arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle. He is the orthopaedic consultant for numerous dance companies.
Dr. Rose earned his Doctor of Medicine from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He completed an internship in General Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center, followed by a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases. He further advanced his expertise with a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Temple University Hospital.
He is a Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient of the University of Medicine and Dentistry (2002) and the UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (2012). In 1977, he received the Documents of Dance Award. A clinical associate professor at NYU Medical School, Dr. Rose practices an aggressively conservative approach to orthopaedics.
