About Dr. Donzella Dixon
Dr. Donzella Dixon, a dedicated member of the First Medcare team in Canarsie, Brooklyn since June 2020, brings 33 years in medicine. Born and educated in Jamaica, she earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of the West Indies Faculty of Medical Sciences. Her bedside manners are great! The receptionists were friendly. The woman who takes your vitals was so nice. I just wish the office was larger and the lab wait was not as long. Other than that I will be back and felt very comfortable to speak with her

I highly recommend Dr. Dixon without reservation. She is an excellent physician, a total professional. She is compassionate, considerate, astute, well informed and thorough. This is the best and most thorough physical I have ever had. In the blood work she not only checked the regular things but also checked to make sure I have had all of my vaccines, she checked for allergies, vitamin D level and other things. Due to my age and family history she checked my heart, ordered an EKG and a sonogram of my heart. I have stomach problems, without asking, she checked for a stomach bacteria and ordered a sonogram. She listens and addressed all of my concerns. She explained all the results and the plan for follow up.
There is only one slight down side, wait time. I am not writing this as a criticism as much as to help you manage your expectations. Honestly, I have waited 1- 2 hours past my appointment time however I think that as long as you are aware of this you can plan your day accordingly. I gave her 5 stars for time because I did not want to lower her score. I think she is awesome. And I dare to suspect that the scheduling is probably not in her hands but in the hands of a manager who is not a Dr. and does not understand how much time it take to do a good job.
I know that I do not have the best insurance yet she is providing top-notch care. She is truly a blessing. I will continue to see her and I have already recommended her to family and friends because my health is in good hands.

Heyyyy the reviews are so right!! Dr Dixon bedside manners are so warm and inviting. I'm a healthy individual so there wasn't much concerns. But she did talk to me about things to keep me healthy. She was thorough and precise and I felt comfortable. But..... the wait is no joke. I waited about 2hrs and 15minutes just to do the vitals before seeing the doctor. To be precise I came in at 8:55am and I was done with everything at 12:25pm. But I guess that's how it is when your that good.
