Getting to know Dr. Elina Kugel

Dr. Elina Kugel, Psy.D is a licensed clinical psychologist and the co-founder of Curect Neuropsychology.
Dr. Kugel specializes in neuropsychological evaluation of children and adults presenting with a wide range of brain disorders, including ADHD, Learning Disorders, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, stroke and traumatic brain injury/concussions, among other diagnoses. She tailors each evaluation to address the specific concerns and needs of each client. At the conclusion of testing, Dr. Kugel provides clients with a comprehensive written report detailing cognitive, emotional and/or academic functioning. Each client also receives an extensive list of practical and concrete recommendations to help them and their family focus on strengths in order to overcome their specific set of challenges.
Dr. Kugel received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from the University of Hartford. Dr. Kugel received extensive clinical training including the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical College-New York Presbyterian Hospital. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Icahn School of Medicine-Mount Sinai Hospital and postdoctoral fellowship at the JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Kugel’s research interests include traumatic brain injury and neurodegenerative diseases.

I never saw the doctor . They called me to confirm the appointment I explained my son was 17 they said his dad had to be present I explained he has not seen his dad in 8 years she said I had to get consent . I HAVE NEVER IN 17 YEARS BEEN TOLD THIS AD A SINGLE MOM!!! I explained he’s in prison and he’s abusive she said I had to get consent from him. How ??? If he’s absent !!!!!! He was also abusive and I have not had contact !!!! My son is autistic and was just trying to get him help ! My insurance he lives with me never in 17 years has an office require his dad be there !! Immediately asked them to cancel then got a message I had an appointment ! I understand there are legal things but how come
No other doctor has required his dad to be there and how they suggest I get consent when he is in prison !!! Never ever !

Making the appointment for my son was the best choice I could have made. I now have answers and guidence to get my son all the help he needs. Dr Kugel went over the entire evaluation and I now have a clearer understanding and know what my son needs. Aside from her I am so grateful for Susan in the office that went above and beyond!! I am very happy with everything they have provided us with.and strongly recommend them.

Dr. Kugel helped my son so much by getting his school to understand the help he needed. The school fought with us for years before her report proved his needs. Dr. Barkey has helped him get through the hard times after. He helped me too.
