She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed her residency in psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Stevenson is skilled in diagnosing, treating, and preventing a wide range of mental illnesses as well as emotional and behavioral health issues. What should a new client know about working with you?
I try to use an eclectic approach to therapy combining psychodynamic psychotherapy with elements of CBT and DBT as well as supportive tecniques. I am a psychopharmacologist adept at treating affective disorders , anxiety disorders, personality disorders. I treat patients in late adolescence and am familiar with issues related to college, learning disabilities, parent child issues and marital problems.

I was going through a difficult time. A friend recommended Dr. Ellen Stevenson. I got a virtual appointment pretty quickly. At first, I was worried about not seeing a doctor in person. Dr. Stevenson was very empathetic, I felt she understood me and my situation. I was comfortable meeting with her virtually. We were able to set up a series of virtual consultations. Dr. Stevenson is really helping me. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ellen Stevenson.
