I have been very lucky to learn from wonderful mentors. During my fourth year of medical school, I had the privilege to work with Dr. Kevin Fox, a clinical oncologist at the Abramson Cancer Center, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His clear and persistent instruction to medical students, residents and fellows is only paralleled by the amazing way in which he cares for his patients. Working with Dr. Fox, I learned exactly how I want to treat my patients and what kind of physician I hope to become. At Jefferson Medical College, I enjoyed studying physiology and clinical medicine, particularly because of interconnections of different regulatory circuits and importance of pharmacological intervention in treatment of disease. Internal medicine and cardiology seemed most fascinating to me. I am a member of the American Heart Association’s Circle of Red Society, women working in the community in various ways to raise awareness about heart disease. I enjoy reading, both world news and about new developments in cardiology.
