About Dr. Emily Sammons
Dr. Sammons has been serving women and families in the Lake Saint Louis area since 2010. She earned both her bachelor's degree and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Indiana University. An active member of the medical staff at St. Joseph's Hospital since 2014, she served as chair of the OB/GYN department until 2017. Dr. Sammons currently serves as the chief-elect of the St. Joseph's medical staff, after having served as secretary/treasurer from 2017 to 2018.
Caring for women and helping them achieve their goals as mothers and as potent members of the workforce is a critical part of Emily Sammons' role in the community. She enjoys the continuity of the OB/GYN profession for the ability to be present at all stages of a woman's life. While she admits that parts of those stages are “less than glamorous,” the relationships and memories they cultivate between her and her patients are “irreplaceable.”
Proud to be a part of the Lake St. Louis community, Dr. Sammons lives with her husband, son, and daughter. She enjoys hiking in the county parks, knitting, playing the piano, and spending time with their family dog Luna, a “live-find dog” for the local search and rescue team.

She was nice, but not a good listener, she believed she knew my body better than myself and my other doctors despite all of us trying to educate her, resulted in a traumatic procedure that could have been easily avoided if she had believed her patient and their prior doctors.

Worst OBGYN appointment I’ve ever had. The whole appointment I was belittled, talked over, and talked down to. When I voiced possible concerns based on a previous diagnosis she talked to me like I was a 5 year old and asked me if I just had anxiety. When I pointed out a pamphlet in her office said the same information I was voicing a concern over she told me to “just stop”

my first experince with them was amazing. i took my first pap smear and biospy, i was so scared but the staffs made me so comfortable and telling me everything is going to be ok! i had one of staff ladies held my hand while my doctor checked on me ( she made me feel safe and comfortable too! ). they're super amazing, super nice and understanding! i would definately recommend this place!

Dr Sammons was referred to me during a very rough health journey and I could not be more grateful to have her overseeing my female healthcare. She is precise, direct, understanding, so supportive, she listens and is who I recommend every time. Without her on my care team, I would not be in the significantly, healthier place that I am now. Her empowering nature and extensive knowledge on women's health creates the perfect balance of autonomy which seems to be important to her that we have. I really appreciate her and all of the staff for the amazing care!

The whole office is very nice and welcoming. Very clean. Doctor answered all my questions and took me seriously. This is definitely my new gyno place, would definitely recommend, just be aware you may have to wait past your appointment time to be seen, so schedule accordingly.

I live Dr. Sammons. I didn't like that the radio was really loud and music was played throughout the clinic, except in the exam room. I just prefer a quieter environment, but Dr. Sammons is an excellent doctor.

The nurse that took my vitals was very friendly. I really loved Dr Sammons. I felt like she really listened. At no point did I feel rushed or that my questions were trivial or bothersome. My daughter will need a gyn within the next couple of years and I feel really good about taking her to this doctor.

The online checkin took too long. I received several emails and texts which was bothersome. One or two would be fine. There were even 3 texts on the day of the appointment before 6 am. Way too much communication especially since I did confirm as requested.
Dr Sammons and the staff are great, but need to do something about patient facing technology.

Well i waited an hour and a half to even be seen by the doctor, which was unfortunate. While i waited i staired at all the nasty hair and dusty bunnies on the floor. BUT, When I did finally speak with the doctor she was very nice and knowledgeable. And her front staff was also very pleasant.

I waited for about a half hour once in the room, which is not comfortable when you have to wait undressed. I have seen this doctor before and had great experiences, but this time it felt rushed and she seemed to just brush off my concerns. I didn’t feel like she cared much about me. Maybe she was just having a bad day, IDK. I had a follow up visit with a different doctor (Dr. Sullivan) and she was wonderful and very caring.

I was looking for a female doctor closer to home rather than driving to Creve Couer. My last doctor I saw for the past 20 years and I feel like Dr Sammons was just as good. Listened to me and understood what I was going through. Didn’t have to wait long in the waiting room or in the exam room either. I was pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to seeing this Dr again!
