“The doctor was very nice and the staff and office were great as well but this doctor is not a pain management specialist and that is what I originally searched for. My appointment on zocdoc specifically said pain management specialist and the doctor was confused when I told him that. He helped me in the best way he could but honestly I really needed a pain management specialist. Someone should look into fixing that ”

Biography
Evan M. Schwechter, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained, orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult primary and revision hip and knee reconstruction. His work also focuses on complex joint replacement, hip replacement in young adults, as well as partial knee replacement. Dr. Schwechter serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
After receiving his medical degree from UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School (Rutgers), Dr. Schwechter served his internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center where he was honored with the Richard Selznick Memorial Research award for his work on prosthetic joint infection. He then completed fellowship training in adult joint reconstruction surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Schwechter’s research has been published in major orthopaedic journals, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS) and the Journal of Arthroplasty (JOA), and has been presented at several prestigious national meetings. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).

Dr. Schwecter was very pleasant, knowledgeable and compassionate. His assistant Rasheed was very first-rate and competent as well. I am bone on bone with both my knees and in great pain. I am not a good candidate for surgery due to several medical conditions. But the shots to my knees allow me to walk and function. I highly recommend Dr. Schwecter.

Getting to the office required using 2 elevators. The waiting room was overcrowded, it appeared that they had overbooked the appointments. We were told that they would call me after signing in. After 45 minutes my wife went to the desk and was told that I had to fill in a questionnaire. Waited for a while and was finally told to get an X-Ray . Had to wait for the X-Rays and told to go back to the Doctor to be seen. Waited again for a while
before being seen. The Dr saw me for less than 10 minutes. Total time there was 6 hours. Very unprofessional office. Some of the staff laughed, when I complained of not being told to fill out the questionnaire when I first came in.

Dr. Schwechter was thorough, caring, and took the time to specifically go over my Xrays and next steps with me. He listed options that would be available after reviewing more investigating through further testing which I respect. His demeanor was comforting and calming. He is clearly a highly skilled and competent surgeon; I feel confident I will get the best care with him. The assistant and floor staff were all wonderful; I can’t say enough about my positive experience here.

The visit was satisfactory. However there were issues with receipt of referral. My doctors office sent the referral but for some reason it wasn’t received. In the future I would appreciate a call notifying me of this discrepancy. A lot of time was wasted. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful but I subsequently had to wait over an hour.

I waited so long to be checked in and to register me then I have ever in any appointment. I was not happy about it at all. First the text and online information said the 11th floor and waited on a long line to ask where I can check in for my 8am appt. To be told I have to go to the 10th fl. I had to go pick up my husband after a procedure near by. So I thiugh it would not take me 2 hrs. Overall the xray staff and the Dr himself was not the problem at all. The dr was great very nice and new his stuff. But I dont know if I w the old refer anyone yet. I do have a follow up so let's see how that goes.
