If you’ve been feeling unsure about what’s going on with your mental health or thinking skills, you’re not alone. Many people come to me looking for clarity, reassurance, or simply a better understanding of themselves or a loved one. I’m Dr. Evelyn M. Ramirez, a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist. I work with children, teens, adults, and older adults, and I do my best to meet each person where they are. I offer both therapy and neuropsychological evaluations, either in person or through telehealth, depending on what feels most comfortable and practical for you. People often see me for concerns related to attention, memory, learning, mood, or changes in thinking. I have experience working with individuals with ADHD, autism, learning and language differences, as well as those coping with the effects of brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, dementia, or other neurological conditions. I also support people through cognitive rehabilitation when thinking or daily functioning feels harder than it used to. As a psychotherapist, I use evidence-based approaches to help people navigate anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I take time to truly listen and understand the full picture, not just symptoms, so that recommendations feel clear, practical, and meaningful in your everyday life. I believe care should feel collaborative, respectful, and supportive. I focus on strengths as much as challenges, and I want you to feel heard, comfortable, and informed throughout the process. I take a culturally sensitive approach and offer services in both English and Spanish. Whether you are seeking answers, support, or guidance on next steps, my work is grounded in compassion, clinical expertise, and a genuine commitment to helping you feel informed, confident, and supported moving forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When we work together, my goal is to create a space where you feel truly heard and understood. I like to take a collaborative approach, which means we explore your concerns together, focus on your strengths, and come up with strategies that actually fit your life. Whether you’re here for testing, therapy, or both, I tailor everything to your needs. I also believe in keeping things clear and practical. I’ll walk you through what to expect, answer any questions you have, and make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. My approach combines evidence-based care with compassion. I want you to feel supported, not rushed, and leave our sessions with clarity and confidence about your next steps.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we work together, I usually start by getting to know you and understanding the concerns that brought you in. For new clients, I begin with a comprehensive assessment. This often includes asking about your mental health history, daily life, mood, memory, attention, and other cognitive or emotional concerns. If neuropsychological testing is needed, I will walk you through each part of the process, explain what the testing involves, and let you know how long it may take. Once I have gathered all the information, I review the results with you in a way that is clear and easy to understand. Together, we talk about what the findings mean and explore practical steps or strategies that might help. When appropriate, I provide talk therapy as part of ongoing care, and I work closely with you to set goals and plan treatment or follow-up. My approach is always compassionate and centered on your needs. I want you to feel supported, informed, and confident throughout every step, and I make sure you know what to expect in each session, whether it involves testing, therapy, or both.
