Getting to know Dr. Ewa Adamek
I am a licensed psychologist specializing in working with adults and older adolescents suffering from anxiety, stress, trauma, and challenging life transitions in relationships, work, school, or changes in family structure. I am particularly interested in supporting those who tend to internalize their emotions through self-blame and self-attack, being hyper-responsible, or attempting to maintain control over themselves and their worlds. Along with a relational focus, I rely on evidence-based practices to help you understand the underlying causes of distress and learn new ways to tolerate and manage your emotions.
I earned my PsyD in School Psychology from St. John's University and hold an MSEd from City University of New York, Brooklyn College. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a core foundation for change and personal growth. I also believe in the inherent resilience of people. As such, I am open and flexible in my approach, tailoring our work to your unique needs and experiences. I combine empathy, compassion, and a touch of humor to help you build on your existing strengths, gain self-awareness, and improve coping skills. This leads to increased confidence in meeting the unique challenges that life brings and, in turn, greater life satisfaction.

Ewa is phenomenal, and I would recommend her 10/10 times! She is comforting when needed yet will be straight to the point if that is what you need. The only reason I have switched practitioners is that I moved out of state. Give her a shot! She is excellent at working with family issues, anxiety, and OCD thoughts, along with so much more and everything that comes with those issues.
