Initially, I pursued a career as an elementary school teacher, but I found myself consistently drawn to continuing education courses that focused on students' emotional and mental health. While working towards a master's degree in clinical psychology to advance my teaching career, I had the chance to see clients for therapy. It was then that I discovered my true passion for the connection and healing that can occur between individuals. This rewarding experience led me to change careers and pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, and I've been dedicated to this field since 2006. Over the years, I've gained extensive experience working with individuals dealing with substance abuse, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, posttraumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, and personality disorders. I also have experience supporting their family members. My therapeutic approach is rooted in a humanistic/existential perspective, recognizing that while we are all unique, we share common desires to be heard, cared about, validated, and treated with compassion.
