About Dr. Gayle Skinner

?I chose OB/GYN because it gives me the combination of medical and surgical approaches to patient care. The particular issues and concerns involved with women's health are of great interest to me personally. It is so important to counsel and educate patients so that they can make the best choices for their health. I strive to achieve a balance of kindness, compassion, and skill in each encounter.?
Dr. Skinner earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center. She also holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard College. She has been in practice for over twelve years in Maryland and continues to enjoy the full scope of obstetrics and gynecology.
She is particularly interested in minimally invasive surgery, especially hysteroscopic procedures, contraception and family planning, and the management of fibroids and abnormal bleeding.
When not working, I can be found in a yoga studio, bookstore, or trail running and walking.

I have HIGH anxiety when it comes to medical professionals. Dr Gayle was kind, transparent, and encouraging, and so was her staff. She didn't judge and made my first appointment comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful doctor who I could TELL cared.

I was unable to see this provider after waiting close to an hour in the office. The staff didn’t inform me why the wait was this extensive except the provider was running behind and they were unable to schedule me because the system is down. I was disappointed because I am in the market for an OBGYN after my previous provider switched practices. I will hopefully find success with another practice.

Dr. Gayle Skinner is absolutely the best!
I hadn’t seen a GYN in a few years and was honestly nervous going in, but Dr. Skinner immediately put me at ease. Dr. Skinner is personable, professional, and helpful. She is warm and welcoming, and answers all questions and concerns. Dr. Skinner provides helpful information, as in my case, she suggested that I add strength/weight training to my exercise routine of walking daily. She knows her stuff, and I an so glad I now have a GYN I can trust with my health needs.

Dr. Skinner had excellent bedside manner and seem very knowledgeable. However, there is only on aspect that I could negatively report. I had a standard check for STDs and the results took at least 3-4 weeks. Unfortunately, I never got a call back about the results. I had to call back in myself. Luckily, the results were appealing but I would have appreciated a better follow up.
