Dr. George Bordenave, MD, FACC, FACP

Cardiologist
8720 N Kendall Dr, Miami, FL
Like his father and grandfather before him, Dr. Jorge Bordenave practices medicine the old-fashioned way: as a friend and counselor to his patients. After graduating from medical school, he received his training in Internal Medicine at New York’s St. Barnabas Hospital and later at Chicago’s West Suburban Medical Center. Continuing a traditional path in medical education, he then completed a Fellowship in Clinical, Invasive and Nuclear Cardiology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. He subsequently opened a private medical practice at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and later relocated to his current practice in Coral Gables, a neighborhood of Miami, Florida. Along the way, Dr. Bordenave witnessed the changes in medical practice that have transformed doctors from health professionals dedicated to patient care, into programmed providers who practice assembly line medicine. Having studied healthcare MBA from the George Washington University, he recognized the application of the industrialized management principals, to the diagnostic and treatment regimens of all patients, with the doctor following one size-fits-all Guidelines. Loss of patient centered care and the development of a medical industrial complex where patients are seen by many different doctors that don’t speak to each other, but who instead overmedicate and refer patients for an ever increasing number of tests and procedures. As a result, we now have a loss of the doctor-patient relationship as we knew it, where the physician works with and follows his patient as a trusted caregiver, has almost disappeared. The only Board Certified Integrative, Functional Medicine trained Cardiologist in South Florida. Patients treated individually. One size does not fit all.
