About Dr. George Tung
Dr. George Tung is a board certified Ophthalmologist with more than 20 years of experience. He received his MD degree from Cornell University in 1983. He then completed his first residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in 1986 and his second residency in Ophthalmology at North Shore University Hospital in 1989. Dr. Tung is an active member of the teaching staff at North Shore University Hospital where he enjoys sharing his knowledge of patient care with the Ophthalmology residents. Although he is the first to laugh at himself, he is very serious about what he does. His unique approach is that of an Eastern, holistic perspective based on a balance of art and science. Dr. Tung is very passionate about developing trusting and meaningful relationships with his patients on an individual basis. He believes in TEAM, T-together E-each A-accomplish M-more, and will be the first to say he cannot do this without his staff. Dr. Tung has been happily married for 20 years and has four children. Some of his interests are cycling, running, traveling and an overall healthy lifestyle. Dr. Tung wears many hats: he is a doctor, a father, a husband and a mentor.
