About Dr. Gewon Shu

Dr. Julie Gewon Shu was born in Guam and raised in Orange County. She received her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, where she graduated with the highest honors as the valedictorian of her class. For her academic and clinical achievements, Dr. Shu has been featured in Women in Optometry Magazine and is a recipient of the esteemed Beta Sigma Kappa Silver Medal. Dr. Shu's education began at the University of California, Irvine, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology and her Master's in Teaching. Her desire to help others motivated her to teach science for several years before pursuing a career in optometry. As a skilled optometrist passionate about eye care, Dr. Shu focuses on pediatrics, contact lenses, and computer vision. She currently resides in Orange County with her husband and three wonderful children. In her free time, Dr. Shu enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, volunteering at her church, attending musicals, and traveling.
