Dr. Qureshi subsequently pursued advanced interventional cardiology training in structural heart diseases at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. He has also performed clinical research in vascular stiffness and endothelial dysfunction. He has presented his clinical work at multiple national meetings. In recognition of his work, he received “The Robert F. Furchgott Fellowship Award” for outstanding clinical research. Prior to joining Atlanta Heart Specialists, Dr. Qureshi worked as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL. He also served as Director of Nuclear Medicine at the same institution. Dr. Qureshi is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Echocardiography. Dr. Qureshi is trained to perform nuclear stress testing, echocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE). He is proficient in complex coronary interventions including rotational atherectomy and protected PCI with hemodynamic support including Impella. He is also trained in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), left atrial appendage closure (Watchman device), and atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closures.
