About Dr. Gina Wilvang
Dr. Gina Wilvang was born and raised in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. She attended the University of California, Davis and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology, as well as a minor in Spanish. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, she moved to New York City where she received her doctorate from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.
Her education at the college included intense training at the affiliated Foot Center of New York in Harlem. Working in this facility, the largest center of its kind, Dr. Wilvang cultivated a firm foundation in patient care and compassion while providing clinical services to a wide and diverse patient load. Upon completion of her graduate studies, which included the two years immersed in the Foot Center of New York, her mentors and teachers collectively selected her for the highly esteemed NYCPM Faculty Scholarship based on her adept clinical skills and her attentive bedside manner.
In addition to receiving this prestigious award which showcased her character, she was also recognized as the top academic student in her class being named the recipient of the Dr. Emil Rose Examination Scholarship. Dr. Wilvang was pronounced a member of the Pi Delta National Honor Society and graduated with honors, magna cum laude.
Once she completed her medical education on the east coast, Dr. Wilvang was pleased to return to her native Southern California where she was granted her first choice for her postgraduate training. She was accepted for a comprehensive two-year surgical residency program Western Medical Center, Santa Ana, an acute care hospital designated as a Level II trauma center (currently Orange County Global Medical Center).
In addition to extensive training in foot and ankle surgery (elective, reconstructive, post-traumatic, and diabetic limb salvage), Dr. Wilvang spent many rotation hours practicing among the indispensable disciplines of wound care, emergency medicine, orthopedics.

The doctor was really nice and assuring! It’s been a week since my appointment for my in grown toenail and it’s healing up quite nicely! It’s so nice to be pain free!! She walked me through every step and answered all of my questions! She’s knowledgeable in her field, kind as a person, and a great doctor! The office had water, coffee, and snacks available too which is always a plus! The staff are friendly too! Such a great experience!
