He completed his undergraduate education at Union College in upstate New York, where he majored in biomedical engineering and played varsity football as a tight end. Following graduation, he worked as an engineer at a startup in Cambridge, Massachusetts, while also bartending on weekends. His combined interests in science, biomechanics, athletics, and service ultimately led him to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Rose earned his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating as Class Valedictorian. During his time there, he served as Class President and as President of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) Student Chapter. He also completed a dual-degree Master of Public Health (MPH) program, focusing on healthcare management and health disparities. His research on diabetic limb salvage in New York City was recognized with the Outstanding Thesis Award. He went on to complete his residency training at the prestigious Inova Fairfax Foot and Ankle Surgery Residency Program, where he trained under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Derner, Dr. Corine Creech, and Dr. Roland Ramdass. His comprehensive training included extensive experience in foot and ankle surgery, general orthopedic trauma, plastic surgery, and multidisciplinary surgical care. Dr. Rose has a strong passion for academic medicine and clinical research. During residency, he served as Chief Research Coordinator, lectured nationally on foot and ankle surgery, and has authored peer-reviewed publications on topics including total ankle replacement, osteochondral lesions of the talus, minimally invasive surgery, and cavus foot reconstruction. Outside of medicine, Dr. Rose enjoys staying active through exercise, studying Spanish, and spending time with his son.
