Dr. Heather Mahoney is a smart and caring primary care doctor serving the community of Wynnewood, PA. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Dr. Mahoney completed her residency in Family Medicine at Crozer-Keystone Health System in Springfield, PA, where she also served as a member of the Ethics Committee and End-of-Life Task Force Committee.
Dr. Mahoney is a part of Mainline HealthCare Wynnewood. She treats patients aged 16 and older and has a special interest in preventive care, women's health, and management of chronic disease. She is also experienced in providing wound care, acute gynecologic care, and management of acute illnesses. Dr. Mahoney is on the staff of Main Line Health hospitals, including Bryn Mawr Hospital, Lankenau Hospital, Paoli Hospital, and Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Mahoney is very professional, and also very kind, attentive and truly caring. She listens, asks questions, and helps me live a healthy lifestyle. You are never rushed. Before you leave she always has a plan of action or recommendations for me to follow. She keeps me on track regarding other physicians that I have to follow up with. She is Amazing! I couldn't believe how filthy the room was, it's an old building and the rooms were in a very bad shape, lot's of dust and accumulated dirt, definitely not acceptable especially for a medical facility.

I had a great appointment with Dr. Mahoney. I was excited to find her at a location that is very easy to navigate. She understood my concerns and did a thorough exam. I immediately scheduled follow up appointments with her. I am going to make her my PCP.

I went there for a consultation. I sat in the lobby for about 40 minutes and was only in the room with her 20 yet it cost me way above average cost for a visit AFTER insurance because they marked me for an hour visit. I would not recommend.

I visited Dr. Mahoney for an annual wellness visit, covered in full by my high deductible health plan. In the course of the visit, I discussed a health issue and – as a result – was surprised to receive an invoice for the visit, which was not covered by Cigna.
In follow-up, Dr. Mahoney's assistant explained that if in the course of a wellness visit a patient discusses any issue whatsoever, Dr. Mahoney's policy is to invoice in full under a different code, which one can assume generates more revenue for the doctor than does an annual health visit covered by high deductible insurance plans. At no point during the visit did Dr. Mahoney share that she would be recategorizing the visit.
This policy, which puts profits before patient care, is a shame for Dr. Mahoney's practice. Moreover, in the interests of transparency, it seems appropriate that at the outset of any wellness visit, Dr. Mahoney should explain to patients under high deductible plans that they will be invoiced under a different code if they complain of any health ailments.
