Dr. Hillary Sutton, PhD

Dr. Hillary Sutton, PhD

Psychologist
FL
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and experience treating a range of disorders. My psychodynamic background lends itself to the exploration of unconscious conflicts and the impact of early experience. However, I understand that when people seek treatment, they are often experiencing distress. Hence, I recognize the importance of focusing on the presenting problem. I believe the therapeutic process is a creative endeavor between therapist and client. As such, I strive to create a warm and safe environment. Empathy and understanding are significant facilitators of therapeutic change. I draw on psychodynamic and existential theory and incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as mindfulness approaches. Thus, I am flexible in my process and often employ a systematic, eclectic approach to therapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
